I got this recipe from an ex’s mom. 😉 What can I say? She was an excellent cook and I’ve never seen anyone else make these.

Salty Poof Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 Puff Pastry Sheets (I use Pepperidge Farm)
  • 1 beated egg + smidge of water for egg wash
  • Course Sea Salt
  • Cheddar Cheese (or Parmesan, etc)

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Thaw the pastry sheets for about 10 minutes at room temperature.
  • Brush egg wash over flat pastry sheet.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt and cheese.
  • Cut into small strips about 3/4-1″ x 3″ (Note: I use a pizza cutter)
  • Bake on greased cookie sheets for 10-12 minutes. (Note: better underdone than overdone on these!)
Servings: A bunch! Two pastry sheets or 1 package makes a large bowl full.
I recommend these for parties! Everyone loves them. They are good right out of the oven, but will also keep for several days. So addicting!
