So…I’m super excited to share about my new hobby of crochet. I’ve only been doing it for a few weeks, but it is making me super happy. My inspiration is my grandmother Worden. Some of my most cherished possessions are the blankets and other items she hand made for me. I hope someday I will be able to share the craft with my grandchildren.

Here is a little chronicle of the last few weeks:

My first attempt…with only a few youtube videos as my guide. As you can plainly see, I’m not a big fan of counting!

My second attempt, but using Granny Squares…I was totally proud of it! My cats are making good use of it so far. This was also with very little instruction.Took about 30 minutes per square.

This baby blanket is my first project I’m willing to claim. I took one class and learned I was holding the crochet needle all wrong and was doing it backwards! This is one large granny square. Since i have so many friends with babies right now, I think I will continue elaborating on these kinds of blankets as gifts. This one took me a few hours at the end of each day for a week. I love the tassels!!!

I’m working on another granny square blanket…but this one will be warmer because there are not as many holes. 🙂
