I opened up a bottle of Irony…a pinot noir given to us by some good friends of ours the last time we grilled. Because I don’t know much about wine…I thought that the rule was that you pair steak with red wine and chicken with white wine. Tonight, I’m grilling…so I picked a red blindly.

My first glass of wine fueled my nerve to finally put enough lighter fluid on the coals to properly start the barbeque!

According to the Irony website (see it here), I should have paired this with Grilled salmon, medium-hard cheeses, spicy Asian dishes. Honestly? After tasting it…I’m not sure that makes any sense.

It’s a nice wine…pretty mellow. But do I taste and smell what the website tells me I’m supposed to? Nope. I’ll keep trying! At a $10 or so price point, it’s definitely a good wine to have around the house!

Tonight, I’m pairing it with a nice, thick steak, grilled spaghetti squash, and mushrooms! NOM!

Once done, I will be sitting down to watch an episode from Season 2 of Breaking Bad with the hubby. Hopefully, I will get some compliments on the steak!

The action shot…
