After the first few projects, I was ready to put together something I could be proud of! This project was a different version of a Granny Square…and will be warmer than the previous blanket.

I am so excited to be done with this project…it took about 20 hours to complete!

I’m also excited to finally start a baby blanket for a little girl! So many babies, so little time.

Again, just started with a simple square. A double crochet in every open space…3 sc for each corner.

It is difficult to see here, but I wanted to make the white edge more interesting, so I did a few rows of triple crochet…looked good!(You can also see the first white band got broken up by skipping 2, dc 2).

Finished product!

I finished up the edge by doing a single around the edge on the first round. On the second round, I did 3 sc in EACH space. And then I added tassels because tassels are cute!

I can’t wait to see it wrapped around the sweet little boy.
